Chemical Substances

The U.S.A. Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA; passed in 1976) ) requires EPA to compile, keep current, and publish a list of each chemical substance that is manufactured or processed in the United States. This list is known as the TSCA-Inventory. In 2014 there were more then 84.000 chemicals listed in the TCSA Inventory.

The European Inventory of Existing Commercial chemical Substances (EINECS) lists and defines those chemical substances, which were deemed to be on the European Community market between 1 January 1971 and 18 September 1981. The EINECS list contains over 100.000 substances.

This is only a fraction of the actual number of known chemical substances.

DOHSBase Compare aims to unlock the information on occupational exposure limits and measurement methods of all the relevant chemical substances used in the working environment. DOHSBase Compare is currently filled with information on chemical substances that represent 99,7% of the production volume of chemicals manufactured/used in the world.
